Norfolk and Goode Logo's have been added to the movies and they have been shortened to 20 seconds each to equal 1 minute overall.

Assignment Scene 3 Complete

This the final rendering of my 3rd animation.

It shows my spaceship landing on one of the larger asteroids.

For this animation I have used camera path fly around, as well as key frame animation to make the ship move.

Assignment Scene 2 Complete

This is the final version of my second 3D animation.

The video shows my spaceship navigating its way through an asteroid field.

The techniques used are path animation as well as key frames for rotation. I have also made the camera follow the path independantly of the spaceship as I believe it looks better this way.

Assignment Scene 1 Complete

This is my final first scene. It shows a spaceship slowly advancing into the screen before jumping to warp speed.

I have edited the planet again to achieve an effect I am more pleased with. I have also edited the stars to look more realistic.

This video uses keyframe animation with key locations and key scales.

Assignment Scene 3

This is where I hope to make my spaceship land for my third scene. The rocky surface of a large asteroid with a pink planet in the background.

Assignment Scene 2

I have created my asteroid for my asteroid field scene. I plan on duplicating the same asteroid but scaling and rotating it to make them all look different.

This scene should end up with something not unlike the camera path tutorial completed completed earlier on except with my spaceship model moving through asteroids.

Changed the planet texture to a blender clouds texture that I created and I have also changed some lighting around as well as giving the planet a halo so it gives a slight glowing effect.

Here is a screenshot of what I have completed so far for my first scene.

I am very pleased with the partical effect for the engine, and overall I think it looks good so far.



I haven't decided on a colour yet for my spaceship but I think white looks ok for now.

Assignment Ideas

For my assignment animations I am planning on doing 3 space scenes.

I hope to create a scene with a spaceship going to warp speed something along the lines of this.


I hope to also create a scene with the spaceship landing.
(This is the best concept art I could find)



Finally I hope to create a scene with the spaceship travelling, possibly through an asteroid field.

*NOTE - For some reason the particles are only rendered 1 face at a time as the plane was subdivided into 4 faces. I have yet to discover why this is as I followed Neil Hirsig's tutorial and he did the same.
